Housing Information

On-Campus Accommodation

Conference Housing accommodations are located in the air conditioned Residence Halls in Roth Quad (see campus map). The accommodations consist of 3-bedroom suites; each suite includes a common sitting room (3-seat couch, 2-seat couch, 2 end tables and overhead lighting or lamp), bedrooms (each containing 2 twin beds, 2 dressers, 2 desks w/shelves, overhead lighting or lamp), and a shared suite bathroom. While daily housekeeping in guest rooms is not provided, you may request basic linen and exchange service. Guests will receive 2 bed sheets, 1 pillow and pillow case, 2 towels and a wash cloth. Linens can be exchanged at the Conference Housing Main Office in Hendrix College from 9am to 9pm. Please remember to bring toiletries and personal care items as they are not provided. If you forget to bring these items they can easily be purchased during normal business hours from the Student Activities Center, Seawolves Market Place, which is within walking distance from Roth Quad. Room phones are provided for incoming calls, on-campus calling, as well as for credit card or collect calls. Free high speed 10/100 ethernet access is available in all rooms. A Common Kitchen is located in the lower level of each building. Coin-operated washers and dryers are available in the lower level of each residence hall.

All guests staying in the Residence Halls in Roth Quad should enter the campus at the Main Entrance on Nicolls Road, which is the second entrance on your left going North on Nichols Rd (CR 97). After entering make a left past the Guard Booth at the light on Circle Rd. Continue straight past the first stop sign to the entrance to Roth at the top of the hill on your right. Make a right. Continue straight to Hendrix College just past Gershwin College on your left. Housing registration & check-in takes place in Roth Quad, in Hendrix College Building. The reservation deadline is June 11, 2008.

Rates

  • Double Space (shared occupancy) with Linen:               $43.00 per night/per person

  • Single Space (single occupancy) with Linen:                  $52.50 per night/per person

For reservation, a full payment is required at least two weeks prior to arrival - the reservation is not complete until we receive the payment. All major credit cards are accepted if you make a reservation online. Otherwise, please send us a check or money order made payable to "Center for Game Theory" (see the reservation form for details).

To obtain a refund please email us to organizers@gtcenter.org. We guarantee full refund if the request is made 72 hours before arrival. Otherwise, the refund will be less by the amount that the Campus Residences have already charged to us.

Off-Campus Housing

Holiday Inn Express

The Holiday Inn Express, located about 3 miles from the campus, has a room rate of $129.00 per night. This includes a continental breakfast, wireless internet, shuttle service until 11pm to Stony Brook University and access to indoor swimming pool and fitness center. However, it is recommended that participants staying at the Holiday Inn also rent a car, as there are no dining facilities available at the Holiday Inn Express or within walking distance. To make room reservation, please contact the Holiday Inn Express.

Directions from campus: Take Nicolls Road (Rte. 97) South, make left to Rte. 347 East, the Holiday Inn Express is on the right-hand side after 1/4 mile.

Reimbursement of Travel Expenses

Please, note, that if you are entitled to be reimbursed for part of your travel expenses you should be aware of the following two important points:

  • the original receipts of your expenses must be submitted

  • the expenses for air tickets can be reimbursed only if the airline you fly with is an US carrier (i.e. American Airlines, Delta Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines, etc.), the list of the US airlines can be found here

For all your snail-mail needs, a full-service U.S. Post Office is located on the basement  level of the Student Activities Center (SAC).

Drop Box for Fedex, UPS is located at the lower entrance to the Administration building.

Entertainment

A variety of concerts, and movie shows regularly happen at Staller Center for the Arts and Charles B. Wang Center

Jazz bands and rock groups are often invited to the University Cafe (located at Student Union, 1st floor, entrance on the left side of the building).
